Open Topics
Our current research focuses on blockchain, securing the engineering of industrial systems and Software Protection.
Software Protection
We recently established the Christian Doppler Lab for Security and Transparency in Software Protection (https://cdl-astra.at) in our research group. At the lab, we offer many opportunities to work on your bachelor’s or master’s thesis with us. Additionally, you can complete your PR1 and PR2 projects in our lab.
Topics include:
- Reverse engineering of binary code
- Code obfuscation and tamperproofing
- LLVM-based software protection
- Binary code complexity analysis
- Physically unclonable functions
- TPM for software protection
Network Measurements & Critical Infrastructure
We conduct active and passive measurements on the Internet, concerning all kind of protocols.
- Internet Measurements (e.g., IPv6, Email)
- Geolocation
- Routing Loops
- Network Security
- Analysis of Data Collected in Internet Measurements
- Bitcoin Networking
- Power Grid Modelling
- Attacks against the Power Grid/Energy Markets
Further, we work in close collaboration with the non-profit research center SBA Research in particular for Bachelor, Master and PhD theses with many more exciting topics.
Students are welcome to join any of the research projects.
